Οι ψηφοφορίες της κοινοβουλευτικής ομάδας των Συντηρητικών για τη διαδοχή της Τερέζα Μέι κατέδειξαν την απόλυτη κυριαρχία του Brexit μέσα στο κόμμα. Κανείς από τους δέκα υποψηφίους δεν υποστήριξε την παραμονή ή το δεύτερο δημοψήφισμα. Αντιθέτως οι επίδοξοι διάδοχοι της Μέι χωρίστηκαν σε σκληροπυρηνικούς που δεν αποκλείουν το Brexit χωρίς συμφωνία και μετριοπαθείς που θέλουν ήπια έξοδο.
Η βρετανίδα πρωθυπουργός Τερέζα Μέι ζήτησε υπερκομματική στήριξη του Brexit, ώστε να αρθεί το αδιέξοδο που έχει δημιουργηθεί από το τέλος του 2018, όταν Βρυξέλλες και Λονδίνο υπέγραψαν συμφωνία για τους όρους εξόδου των Βρετανών από την ΕΕ.
In June 2015 the negotiations between Athens and Brussels regarding the terms of financial aid for Greece broke-down. Negotiations over the previous five months were contentious and ill-tempered, as both sides refused to back-down. As the deadline of June 30 came and went – when Greece was due to make their next repayment to the International Monetary Fund – no deal was reached, and Greece became the first European state to default on a payment to the IMF.
